Recurring Donations on BackaBuddy

Recurring donations make a big impact on the causes you care about. By pledging to give regularly – monthly, quarterly, or on a schedule that suits you – you play a key role in a campaign’s success and may even inspire generosity in others. Your ongoing support helps campaigns keep going, plan ahead, and create lasting change.

Each donation is marked with a recurring badge, letting campaign creators know your support is continuous.

 

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to make a recurring donation: 

  • Locate the campaign you want to donate to                                                                                                                                                                             
  • Click on the purple donate button 
  • Click the “recurring” button 
  • Either choose an amount to donate from the predetermined options, or insert a donation amount of your choosing
  • Choose your currency (either ZAR or USD). 
  • Choose your donation term – how long you want the donation to recur (either 2, 3, 6, 12, 24 months or indefinitely). 
  • Choose your deduction day (1st, 15th, or 25th of the month). 
  • Choose whether you’d like to cover the platform fee or not 
  • Decide on your donation visibility – anonymous or not
  • Add a message to be displayed with your donation 
  • Add your personal details (this remains private)
  • Double-check the information in the donation summary
  • Choose your payment method, and complete your bank details. 

 

Once your donation is made, it may take up to 48 hours for the donation to reflect on the campaign page, as we await confirmation from your bank. As soon as your bank confirms your debit order as successful, a profile will automatically be created for you to manage your recurring donation. 

Managing recurring donations is simple and convenient through Profile > My Donations > Recurring. Here, you can adjust your donation schedule, update your contribution, and cancel the recurring donation if needed.
