Press Release: KwaZulu-Natal Youth Singer One Step Closer to International Stage at Global Music Festival

KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, A young member of the KZN Midlands Youth Choir is one step closer to performing on an international stage after being selected to take part in one of the world’s most prestigious youth music festivals.

Mayenziwe Dlamini has been invited to perform at the Summa Cum Laude (SCL) on Tour International Youth Music Festival, set to take place at Sun City from 6 to 10 August 2026.

A Global Stage for Young Talent

The festival brings together talented young musicians from across the world, offering a rare opportunity for cultural exchange and international exposure.

For Mayenziwe, the invitation represents more than just a performance, it is a chance to represent his choir, his community, and South Africa on a global platform.

A Journey Shaped by Music

As a proud member of the KZN Midlands Youth Choir, Mayenziwe has developed a deep connection to music, which has become a defining part of his life.

Through singing, he has gained confidence, discipline, and a strong sense of belonging.

“This opportunity means so much to me. Music has slowly become a part of who I am, it has taught me discipline, teamwork, and confidence,” he shared.

Community Support Growing

Supporters have already begun rallying behind his journey, with funds raised both online and offline helping him reach nearly half of his target.

The funds will go towards travel, accommodation, meals, and participation in the international festival.
