An actress, creative and leader of the Connie Chiume Foundation, Nothando has been navigating life after the death of her mother, celebrated South African actress Connie Chiume. Grief interrupted more than one plan. It also sharpened Nothando’s wish to keep learning and to build work of her own.
Her campaign supports a return to Los Angeles to continue studies in acting and scriptwriting and complete the qualification she began. The goal is practical travel, tuition and the costs that surround studying abroad, but the heart of the story is quieter. It is about rebuilding confidence, honouring what came before without being defined by it, and choosing education as a way forward.
Supporters are not being asked to write the next chapter for Nothando. They are being invited to help her reach the place where she can keep writing it herself.
